Fall Juried Show – Wimberley
You never know what is going to get into a show. I had several completed paintings, but also entered this study of Tournon at Night.

Photo taken south of Big Sur on the California Coast. The back lighting on the tree captured my eye. Used a base coat of orange to make the sky dynamic. It was accepted into the Summer Juried Gallery Show in Wimberley 2016.
“After the Flood”
Wimberley 2015 on the Blanco
While searching for a lost dog near our water park on the Blanco, I found an empty 15” x 30″ picture frame stuck up in a tree – right across the river from where Mr. McComb was rescued. I thought I should do a painting to fill the frame and donate it to flood relief. I took a picture of the devastation nearby. Through the stripped cypress trees I saw a tattered American flag draped over the debris in the background… I felt it was a sign of hope amidst the loss.
Auctioned for the Benefit Artists for Flood Relief 100 @ $100 This painting was used for advertising the event and was auctioned off for over $400. Raised over $40,000 for flood relief on June 27th, 2015.
Big Sur was entered and accepted at the Wimberley Art League, a juried show, held at the Community Center, Wimberley, Texas from Jan through February 23rd, 2016.
Big Sur was sold to a retired teacher who used to take her classes to the Big Sur area.
