The Tree in Monterey selected for the Wimberley Valley Juried Art Show from May – July 2018
Two Items Got Into this Juried Show! 
A plein Air painting done in May-June 2016.
This painting came to me in a vision in my head. My mom doesn’t like it as it is too “modern,” and it is a wild child for me: an experimental piece. My realism and impressionist paintings did not get into this show, but this one did.
Entered into the Wimberley Valley Juried Gallery Show in Feb. 2017
I am torn between realism and experimental styles, so I’d have to define my interests as eclectic. From a photo I took of railroad tracks on the way to Blanco.
You never know what is going to get into a show. I had several completed paintings, but also entered this study of Tournon at Night.
This is the finished piece:
Photo taken south of Big Sur on the California Coast. The back lighting on the tree captured my eye. Used a base coat of orange to make the sky dynamic. It was accepted into the Summer Juried Gallery Show in Wimberley 2016.
