This painting was from a dream I had. It was experimental in the use of Acrylics diluted to the consistency of watercolors. There is a set of houses on the outcrop with a wonderful view of the landscape.
While searching for a lost dog near our water park on the Blanco, I found an empty 15” x 30″ picture frame stuck up in a tree – right across the river from where Mr. McComb was rescued. I thought I should do a painting to fill the frame and donate it to flood relief. I took a picture of the devastation nearby. Through the stripped cypress trees I saw a tattered American flag draped over the debris in the background… I felt it was a sign of hope amidst the loss. Auctioned for the Benefit Artists for Flood Relief 100 @ $100 This painting was used for advertising the event and was auctioned off for over $400. Raised over $40,000 for flood relief on June 27th, 2015.
